Serve the Lord with gladness. (Psalm 100:2a)
When we follow the Lord's exampe of serving, we glorify God and influence the lives of others for His Kingdom. The ministries and auxiliaries of St. Luke provide opportunities for service within the local church body, throughout the Galveston community, nationwide, and even internationally as outreach allows us to reach out to our world on all levels.
Ministries at St. Luke are tailored for our children, teens, young adults, adults and treasured seniors to erxercise gifts, knowledge, and skills in Kingdom-building opportunities. A variety of ministries exist, creating occasions for an introduction to the gospel and a changed life. Each ministry within St. Luke is established with certain basic components, including a Bible study or lesson, training for the work of the church, inreach projects to the local body, and outreach projects to the community and world.
As service opportunities are presented which can be filled by this local fellowship, we garner available resources to address the specific needs. In the past, we have been able to minister in various ways, such as distributing food and clothing and offering health pre-screening at our Good Friday Outreach, providing Bibles and literature to people groups who may not have a copy of the Bible in their language, and even serving as a collection location and delivery service of supplies to survivors of natural disasters.
We believe that as we reach out to others, we manifest the spirit of Christ to them, create an opportunity to witness to those who are lost, and provide an opportunity to see God's hands and feet in action.
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only,
but now much more in my absence,
work out your own salvation with fear
and trembling; (Philippians 2:12)
